Black Pearl Director Troy Morgan designed this portable bar for the W Hotel Leicester Square in London.

The hotel has a rock’n’roll aesthetic, and the brief was to create a luxurious ‘Mega Bar’ as opposed to a hotel mini-bar, as the focus for a PR campaign launched by the PR group W Communications.

This is a great example of a design and build project that is completely custom-made and built from scratch.

Enclosed in a real touring flight case with all the authentic fittings, the bar is rolled stealthily along the hotel corridors building anticipation, and then in to a hotel room room to be ceremoniously opened up to form the centrepiece for a private party, accompanied by a cocktail bartender of course.

With a revolving mirror ball, an under-lit onyx bar top, a hand-beaten Moroccan bronze sink, upholstered up-lit bottle racks, glass rails, storage cupboards, fruit trays, a sound system and a rechargeable battery pack that lasts for nine hours, this is definitely where the party is at… the only bar of its kind in the world!
